Chilibrew attendees serve as judges for the event, voting on the best chili con carné, vegetarian chili, and home-brewed beer provided by local competitors. An accompanying judged competition asks local food & beverage folks to weigh in with their favorite picks as well.
In recent years, Chilibrew has raised significant monetary donations for several Baltimore grassroots organizations. Selected based on their support of local communities, each of Chilibrew's beneficiaries has received dontations to further their missions.
